Biography

Born In France where he received musical education from the national conservatory and experienced the explosion of Techno Music in Europe in the midd 90‘s, it is in Ibiza/Spain that Luc Ringeisen started to produce music and did his first experiences as a DJ in the outdoor rave scene. He founded there the records store Vinyl Club in 2003, witch has been an important element in the spread of new styles of underground electronic music in Ibiza in the 2000’s decade together with promoters and club owners such as Circoloco, Ibiza Underground or Cocoon. (The underground dance scene in Ibiza was till then limited to outdoor Goa Trance parties, while the island mega clubs were famous for their more commercial oriented house music).

This key position of Luc Ringeisen and his shop in the Ibiza musical renewing led him to do his first steps as a „club DJ“ at Space Ibiza back in 2004 with a Friday night residency and being one of the early DJs of the new born Monza Ibiza, his avant-garde vision of dance music made him play in most of the main Ibiza clubs but Luc very fast identified himself musically and found his home as a DJ at the club Ibiza Underground, and in 2007 he had his first gigs at DC10 at the Mondays legendary Circoloco party.

The record label Vinyl Club Recordings he created in 2005 helped to discover some of the great modern underground music producers such as Petre Inspirescu, Jonas Kopp or Sossa and was an expression tool for the DJs - producers of the club DC-10. Also Luc started then to elaborate his very own musical production style powered by a wish to experiment new ways of approaching dance music.

The rise of music on digital formats in the DJ world and the decreasing vinyl records sales as aconsequence pushed Luc Ringeisen to sell his records store in 2008, and he relocated the label in Berlin where he found a new home where he could focus his work on music production and on his imprint. Since the very first productions Luc developed a very own musical style, often deep and experimental and often made for what he likes to call “neo-psychedelic” after-hour sessions, but once in Berlin without the responsibilities of running a record shop Luc could really dig his style to create a very particular musical world (part of his work is to study the effects, on the dancers, of strong „unusual and disorienting musical events“, using high-end sound design) that led him to produce, apart of on his own imprint Vinyl Club, timeless eps on labels such as Safari Electronique, Movida, Darkroom Dubs and Puas Puas to name a few. 2012 to 2015 were an important milestone in his career as a producer, thanks to the endless pursuit of the ideal production studio, driven by his faith that Techno Music is in evolution, by definition, thanks to the use of new musical technologies, and finally the trap of the utopia of the „digital era“ of the past decade being over some manufacturers were pushing again the boundaries or real musical technology.

Just as the Underground Club in Ibiza, the Club der Visionaere in Berlin became fast the location Luc identified his music and friendships with, being faithful to his musical, non-commercial and human vision. Since the end of 2011 he teams up with DeWalta to run his event Vinyl Society at Club der Visionaere and Hoppetosse, the partners „day - night - day again“ back to backs became a classic in the Sundays/Mondays Berlin dance-music landscape. There he can heavily test his new productions and the ones of his friends of the Vinyl Club crew and he could also dig and reconsider his vision of a DJ session by throwing endless sets that can last 12 hours or more. His Berlin parties allowed him to share the booth and to introduce to the Berlin scene his favorite DJs and producers.

His studio work is now about experimenting technologies like surround possibilities for club-music amongst others, and the production of an album and live show in quadraphonic surround. After nearly 25 years of raving/clubbing his wish to drastically update the raver’s experience is stronger than ever. After 2 years of heavy surround studio experimentations he is ready in 2018 to showcase extended quadraphonic live acts witch perfectly combine surround possibilities with pure dance floor music, finally breaking the boundaries between the existing surround experimental concerts and dance floor orientated club music, so ravers and clubbers can finally dance on a quadraphonic sound set up and discover its endless possibilities when applied to the dance floor. The live shows reflect his studio work and set up, using an avant-garde modular technology such as a Cwejman modular system, mixed with vintage modular systems and synths like Buchla and Juno, topped by a selection of pure analog drum machines and high end multichannel digital effects, allowing him to jam extensively on a vintage quadraphonic surround analog console going from showcasing his studio work to extended pure improvisation sections.
