Pola aka Polarize 'Mio Hill’ EP
Inspired by Transylvania and now based between Berlin and Hungary, All Inn can legitimately claim to be one of the most exciting electronic music labels of the past decade-or-so. With their 10 year anniversary on the horizon, they continue to churn out expert house and techno, with their latest release providing a pertinent reminded of their continued dedication to discerning electronica. This time about, it comes at us from label head Norbert Dunai, who produces here under his Pola alias. Seeing the light of day on All Inn’s sublabel, All Inn Black, the Mio Hill EP provides a timely reminder of both the label and the producer’s many talents. Regularly supported by mainstays of the scene, this latest release serves up a trippy workout that’s sure to endear it to many.
Opening up matters is the sounds of ‘Mio Mio’. A fierce track that’s notable for its incessant intensity, it’s notable for its sprightly drums and form dancefloor emphasis. Full of taut percussion and other intriguing tidbits, it bares all the hallmarks of a classic All Inn cut. Full of suspense but equally full of restraint and intrigue, it’s an atmospheric and enticing cut that’s indicative of both the label and the producer at their potent best.
The B-side sees Pola perk up with the no-less-wonderful sounds of ‘Indian Hill’. A quirky house jam with many oddball tendencies, it’s full of swirling motifs and a range of hypnotic minimal vibes that are hard not to fawn over. A robust jam that’s sure to prove a more than capable tool in the right hands, it culminates the release with serious distinction. Fans of All Inn are sure to lap this one up in their droves
Pola ‘Rise Above the Clouds’ EP
D’Julz’s Bass Culture has long been known for releasing some of house and techno’s most treasured releases, either through the main label or courtesy of its sister imprint, the no-less emphatic Bass Culture Limited. For the label’s latest, it switches its attention to Hungarian DJ/producer and label boss, Pola. The man behind All Inn Records, Pola is renowned for his eclectic vision, the likes of which incorporates house and techno in its many guises. From that perspective, his debut release on Bass Culture Limited is nothing if not an apt one.
Kicking off the release is the sounds of ‘Makarska’. Whereas Pola’s output on All Inn tends to veer toward more minimal planes, this one serves up a rough and rugged house gem that’s notable for its swagger and pure dancefloor zest. A sprightly, positive track that’s hard not to love, ‘Makarska’ is nothing if not a fine start to life for an EP thats never lacking in personality.
The B-side then kicks off courtesy of ‘Gossip Queen’, a looser, acid-infused gem that’s endlessly funky in its outlook, and another house cut that’s sure to win hearts and minds on the ‘floor. Seeing us out the gate is the dizzying, spellbinding sounds of ‘The Lesson’. A classy, deep and dextrous cut, it’s indicative of the producer at his best. A release of wide appeal that’s sure to introduce Pola to a whole new audience — and another fitting chapter in the Bass Culture story.
Cesare vs Disorder
Cesare vs Disorder ‘Utopia’ EP
Nazt’s Handcrafted label has been responsible for some well-received records over the past few years, with Alexkid, Carlos Sanchez, Javier Carballo, Priku and Melodie among the globally-renowned names who’ve graced the imprint. Based in Gran Canaria, the label’s raison d’être tends to lean toward accomplished sounding house and techno hues, so it’s no surprise that Cesare vs Disorder is another who’s already featured for the label. The label’s latest sees the Italy-born, Brazil-based producer conjure up a stunning release courtesy of Utopia. Delicate and imbued with more than a smidgen of magic, it serves up a fascinating insight into the mind of a musician whose work continues to be defined by its eclectic tropes.
It’s the title track that gets us underway. An emotive record that tugs at the heartstrings in the best way possible, it’s never lacking in drama and is notable for its many floating melodies and whimsical vibes. A beautiful example of the soul that often pervades deep house records, this is music made with an impressive level of thought and care.
‘Under Your Shadow’ sees the producer hark back to more minimal-inspired planes, with its trippy aesthetic, popping beats and unlikely baseline coming together with a consummate ease that separates this one from the herd. Fascinating and engaging, it too traverses down a deep path, with the end result one that manages to pair up to the original’s brilliance. Which of course, is no mean feat.
Culminating the release is Arma 17 resident Denis Kaznacheev, who interprets ‘Under Your Shadow’ in his own inimitable manner. Renowned as one of Russia’s foremost clubs, Kaznacheev has played a pertinent role in the club’s rise to global prominence, with this release reminding us just why it’s earned a reputation as one of the world’s best after-hours spots. An unusual but captivating track with an unpredictable demeanour, it closes the release amongst a barrage of oddball vibes.
Ibiza guide: Luc Ringeisen best spots
Ibiza is an island that means a lot to me. I moved to Berlin in 2009, but I spent 11 magical years there beforehand, where I moved shortly after I finished my studies. It’s where I started to DJ, where I ran a record store and where I founded my label, Vinyl Club. In 2008, Andre Aureli aka DJ Adicto, the owner of the Trim label where i recently released my Unsocial Media EP, became my partner in the record store. So submitting this feature was a lovely trip down memory lane for me in many ways. I hope you enjoy my guide to one of the best islands on the planet!
VA 'Captive 03' incl. DoubtingThomas
Inertie records returns with solid variou artists featuring Alexis Cabrera, Jakop Seidensticker & Boronas, DoubtingThomas and Syn & Vlaskiu.
‘Pavalaguna’ EP incl. DoubtingThomas Remix
Paris-based DJ and producer Jedsa Soundorom brings the heats with his debut on Francesca Lombardo’s Echoe imprint. Lombardo herself and underground key player DoubtingThomas also onboard, providing electrifying remixes.
The package begins with ‘Borders’, a bubbling track that oozes tantalizing sonics and an intoxicating spoken vocal hook. ‘Pavalaguna’ shimmers as it builds into an emotive and melodic choral vocal in the breakdown. Providing the remix for ‘Borders’, Lombardo adds darker elements and distorted synths, whilst Doubting Thomas brings a bumpier rhythm to his interpretation of ‘Pavalaguna’.
Cesare vs Disorder
Azimute (Cesare vs Disorder) ‘Blue’ EP
Anyone who’s followed the work of Azimute so far will know too well that the duo consisting of Cesare vs Disorder and Quenum are more than capable of conjuring up some genuinely thrilling dancefloor magic when they get in the studio together. Their latest release features more of the same. The fourth release on their self-titled imprint, Blue features three original tracks, each of which boasts its own dancefloor zest.
Opening up matters is the sprightly tones of ‘Full Moon’. A carefully arranged voyage into the deep, it’s stuffed to the brim with off-kilter sounds and is unpredictable from the first beat to the last. Scrupulously produced, it keeps the listener second-guessing from the off, with its many supple tones and oft-stifling vibes ensuring ensuring the release gets off to an auspicious start.
Middle effort ‘We Can Do’ is a very different but no less captivating affair. Featuring myriad hushed tones and characterise by a general sense that all is not well, it’s every bit as uncomfortable as it is downright intriguing. Sporadic bleeps intersect throughout, lending the track an added dimension as they go.
Closing off the release is the sounds of ‘Extravaganza’. The most blatantly peak-time track on show, it too is notable for its stunning arrangement as well as its fist-pumping aesthetics. A madcap track that’s manic and brash but also charming in its own unique way, it neatly sums up a release that leans heavy on colourful, intoxicating hues. A truly exceptional release — and continued proof of a duo that continues to release special music at an impressively consistent rate.

Jichael Mackson - Hurdy Gurdy EP
Histories of ages past, unenlightened shadows cast, down through all eternity, the crying of humanity”
Be ready for some deeply moving “Hurdy Gurdy” music by Bavarian producer Jichael Mackson. Since almost two decades the man from Munich releases house, techno and his minimal sub-genres on labels like liebe*detail, Hartchef Discos, Musique Risquée, Ilian Tape or Serialism to name a few.
His latest three tracker EP on Budapest-based Akkult likes to swim against the stream and shows his love for dark epic track dramaturgy. The 15 minute minimal tune “Bi Polar” reminds somehow on the foggy jive of Ricardo Villalobos with his twisted synth sounds and odd rhythms. All gets enlarged with dub infected chords and a haunting melody that somehow appears in the middle just to disappear again.
Also the two B-side tunes dance epic around the eight minutemark with a minimalistic dark sound architecture that is totally arresting. Magnificent, delirious black coloredmaster-class minimal music. Deeply meditative, haunting, precise constructed, funky and tremendously entertaining for dancefloors and everyone’s very own psyched out mind trips.
Jichael Mackson Remix (Secrez Society Chile)
Jichael Mackson provides his first remix after 11 years filled with his unique strong basslines giving a alternate dark & spacey version of Rene's original.
Polla returns to Nilla with two tracks featuring a remix by swedish Arkajo.
Influenced by old-school and shaped by new tools Pola delivers his next shot on Nilla. Le Petit Panka channels some of Pola’s playful, sportive memories from a trip to Paris, with some softly handled acid flava between the lines.
DoubtingThomas returns to Organic for his 3rd vinyl release!!!
Aurelien has been part of the family since day one and never disappoints with that signature sound that is so proper to him ¡! Kicking off with “Puffed Dandy” a stellar stripped back minimalist cut that should make some proper damage on the dance floor.
On the flit side, “Diapason” is slightly deeper and jazzier, but yet with that distinctive and infectious groove signed DT. “Passing Tone” is closing the ep nicely. Classy atmospheric textures and depth, a real treat for the after hours!

Jichael Mackson - Carneval EP - SER043
For the first release of 2018 and our 11th year in the game, we kick off proceedings with Jicheal Mackson. The highly in demand producer and live artist drops another forward thinking offering on our imprint. On the A side he delivers Carneval, its an underground disco themed cut with hypnotic highs, a groovy bassline and intricate drum programming that evolves through out, vocal murmurs add to the ambiance and complete this winner. Jichael switches things up on the B side (vinyl only) with Odyssey, this is a more stripped down and trippy affair with break beat drum programming merged with 4/4 swing, white noise slashes and drones set the mood for dark little number. On B2, he lifts the mood with Kraut, a more upbeat offering, driven with a bouncy bass groove and intermittent lush pads he creates another groovy master piece perfect for a late night dance floor. This EP truly shows the diversity and talent of Jicheal Mackson and confirms Serialism never ending quest to deliver quality underground music ...

Pola gets deep with hypnotic minimal house with two captivating cuts on the Yoyaku sub-label AKU
Hungarian producer Pola, aka Polarize, lands on the fresh Yoyaku sub-label AKU with a two-track 12” titled ‘Kuku’, featuring two deep and minimal house cuts.
Building on the stacked catalogue of AKU, which includes releases by Janeret, Varhat, Clébert, and Molly, Pola now delivers more focused dancefloor energy. He’s built up a solid reputation as resident of Romania’s Midi Club and is one to rely on as a tastemaker through his own label All Inn Records.
‘Triangle’, which is found on the a-side of the ‘Kuku’ EP, moves at a steady pace with rolling bass riffs and a gritty tech house motif. ‘Survival’ rounds out the release on the b-side with a melodic tribal groove complete with tripped out textures. Both are sure dancefloor bombs not to be overlooked. Listen to both cuts below.
